Radioactive Imagination
Artist Pilar Bustos gifted author Gabriela Alemán 8 acuarela illustrations, to use as she wished for inspiration or in a story. While eating a plate of seaweed, Gabriela was hit with the inspiration for “Imaginación Radioactiva” - Translated as A Radioactive Imagination.
The story follows a young child who imagines an entire world when she falls asleep. One day, the world of her dreams spills into the waking world. Koke, a poison dart frog from the Amazon gets pulled into it unexpectedly.

How to Tell a Story
The story jumps between the acuarela illustrations made by Bustos and a variety of digital illustration techniques and colorful backgrounds to show how the story progresses from one world to another. Eventually, it all starts to come together.
